CCC修善寺について About CCC Shuzenji

コンチネンタル・サイクリング・センター・修善寺（ＣＣＣ修善寺）は、国際自転車競技連合（ＵＣＩ）がスイスのエーグルに設立した「ワールド・サイクリング・センター（ＷＣＣ）」を拠点とするＷＣＣ構想の下、世界の５大陸にある８つのサブセンターの一つとして、日本オリンピック委員会、日本自転車振興会、日本自転車競技連盟のご協力により２００２年４月、伊豆にある財団法人日本サイクルスポーツセンターに設置されました。
ＵＣＩの提唱するＷＣＣ構想とは、エーグルの本部において自転車競技の発展、並びにオリンピック、世界選手権及びワールドカップで活躍できる競技者の育成を目指すものであり、２００２年1月から第1期生を受け入れ、日本からも数名の選手がこれに参加しております。サブセンターはその目的を各大陸にて展開するものであり、ＣＣＣ修善寺はアジア地域を担当しています。

トラック競技、ロード競技、ＭＴＢ競技など、世界でも類をみない全ての自転車競技施設を保有するサイクルスポーツセンター内のＣＣＣ修善寺は、アジア自転車競技連合（ＡＣＣ）及びＡＣＣに加盟するアジア３９の国及び地域の自転車競技連盟《ＮＦ》に働きかけ、アジア地域における自転車競技の普及、発展、更には、世界レベルのトップアスリートの育成を主眼としてトレーニングキャンプを実施しております。その結果、初年度は８カ国であった参加国数も、年を追うごとに、１５、１７カ国と増えてきており、その成果は着実に根付いてきています。

The Continental Cycling Center Shuzenji (CCC Shuzenji) was established in the area of the Japan Cycle Sports Center in Izu in April, 2002 as one of 8 sub centers in the 5 continents under the WCC Plan based on the “World Cycling Center” which was established in Aigle of Switzerland by the International Cycling Union (UCI), with the cooperation of Japan Olympic Committee, Japan Keirin Association and Japan Cycling Federation.
The WCC Plan proposed by UCI is aimed for the development of cycling and riders who can compete well in the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cups at the headquarters in Aigle. Because of this plan, WCC started to invite trainees from January 2002 as the first students and some of Japanese riders participated in the plan. The purpose of the sub centers is to extend this plan in each continent and CCC Shuzenji takes care of the Asian region.

CCC Shuzenji, which possesses the unexampled facilities of cycling such as track, road and MTB, works for Asian Cycling Confederation and the National Federations of 39 Asian countries and area affiliated to ACC and does promote and develop the cycling and have training camps focusing on the nurture of the top athletes.

As a result, the number of participating countries has been increased to 15 to 17 with passing of the years since the number was only 8 in the first year. We have a confidence that our activities and efforts would be rewarded with good results.
